What we collect
When you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive and store your email address, display name, and profile picture URL from that provider. We also generate a username from your email.
When you use the site, we store the content you post: project submissions (title, description, links, stack tags) and comments. Votes and comment activity are recorded against your account.
Share-button clicks are counted against the project being shared. If you are signed in that count is tied to your account; if you are not, we store a one-way hash of your IP address purely to avoid counting the same click twice, and the address itself is never kept.
If you report a comment, we store the comment you reported, the reason you picked (spam or abuse) and that it was you who reported it. Reports are visible only to the site owner, and they are deleted when the comment goes or the report is dismissed. Comment attempts the site refuses before saving are logged with the reason and the text that was refused, not with your IP address.
What is public
Your username, profile picture, and anything you post (projects and comments) are visible to other visitors. Your email address is never shown publicly and is only used for your account, to email you about your own projects (below), and to identify you to the site owner.
Cookies and storage
Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay logged in. Your light/dark theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
What we do not do
- No ads, no ad tracking, no third-party analytics.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone.
- We do not send marketing email.
Notification email
The only email we send is about your own account: one message when someone comments on a project of yours, and one when a project you submitted is reviewed. No newsletter, no digest, no marketing, ever. Comments also appear on the site itself, in the bell at the top of the page. You can turn the emails off with the switch on your profile page or with the link at the bottom of any of them, and nothing else on the site changes when you do.
Moderation and deletion
The site owner can review, reject, and delete projects and comments. You can delete your own comments and projects. Rejected projects are automatically removed after 7 days. You can delete your entire account and all of your data from your own profile page (one tap, with a confirmation prompt).
Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests to delete your account or data, can be sent directly to the site owner on X (@vibedcoder).
